Invitation to an RVP Project on
Re-Learning to Be Human for Global Times:
Challenges and Opportunities
A research team formed by a set of Slovakian scholars
from many Slovak Universities will work on the issue of
“Sacred
Values: Incarnation and Excarnation”
under the general theme “Re-Learning to be Human for
Global Times: Challenges and Opportunities”.
The research team led by Michal
Valčo will
explore and investigate how the ontological reality of
the incarnation of the eternal Logos in the person in
relation to the engagement of the materiality of human
culture and the physicality of human embodiment; what
are the implications of the current paradigm shift
towards a "Culture of Excarnation" for human
relationality; and how traditional understanding of the
divine with the emphasis on renewing the work of the
Spirit might become an integrative vision (and tool) for
living in a creative tension with the two complementary
foci - incarnation and excarnation.
The research team will consist of theologians,
philosophers, sociologists, religious scholars,
literature scholars, etc. and will explore the topic
relative to the specific Slovak context. See Time
Table.
