Conference Program
Thematic Description
The vitality of a nation, the strength of a country, and the
sustainability of a culture depend on the values that a
nation pursues and brings. As the values of a nation is
closely related to its history and culture and reflects
its distinctive characteristics and cultural identity, the
development and prosperity of a nation cannot be separated
from the guidance of its values. The national value plays an
important role in orienting and adjusting thinking and
action as well as guiding the people to realize their
proclaimed positive values. It also provides a standard for
them to judge what is right and wrong.
The world we are living in today is the one where
competition and rivalry among countries reflect the struggle
of different value systems. Different value systems or
ideologies may lead to conflicts and even brutal wars due to
the fact that some countries want to show the superiority of
their ow values. On the other hand, people can learn from
values of other nations and cultures so that they can
develop and enrich their own values. Thus, a common value
system of humanity for common peaceful and prosperous
co-existence can be established among nations. In order to
so do, a constructive dialogue among (representatives) of
different national values is needed, because such a dialogue
can enable people to reflect critically on the current
situation of one’s own national values, to learn from other
nations’ experiences in terms of building new national
values. This is the goal of this conference.
