Theme

The focus of the conference will be on the historical process and contributions of Chinese indigenous religions as well as foreign religions introduced into China over centuries so as to study the role of these differentl religions in the process of recontruction of Chinese society today and how Chinese religions can make their own contributioin to the world peace through dialogue, communication and cooperation in this global and pluralistic age.

- Chinese indigenous religions: Daolism and/or Confucianism

- Confucianism and its relation to religion

- Buddhism: past, present and future

- Christianity and its relationship with Chinese indiginous religions

- Hermeneutic understanding of religions today

 

Abstract

Please send 300 words and a brief C.V. to Professor Gan Chunsong [ganc1234@sina.com] and cua-rvp@cua.edu until March 30 2016. Presentation of accepted papers will be 20 minutes in length followed by 20 minutes discussion. Full papers (for which in order to promote in-depth investigation there is no upper page limit) will be published by the RVP.

 

 Logistics

There is no registration fee. Travel expense will be covered by participants (or their institutions); the local organizer will provide accommodation during the conference.
